A Full Circle of Magic. A Journey Completed. With Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, Part 2

The fantastic and epic series by J.K Rowling has finally come to a full circle with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. The all so magical book has finally come out as an epic movie and marks the final movie in the Harry Potter series. With this film the fantasy, the magic and the battle between the forces of good and evil has finally completed the full circle of life.

For more than a decade Harry Potter has been an eminent part of our world and as the book grew and movies of it were made, we have seen Harry journey from an all innocent 11 year old boy who came from a family torn and destroyed by evil to a time where he became the leader for the forces of light. From fighting for the Philosopher’s (sorcerer) stone to battling a basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets to freeing his godfather in the Prisoner of Azkaban to fighting dragons and Voldemort in the Goblet of Fire to losing his godfather and only father figure in his life in the Order of Phoenix and his mentor in the Half Blood Prince to finally embarking on a journey to destroy the Horcruxes of Voldemort and battling for life, Harry Potter has indeed journeyed through darkness while being the epitome of light and finally reaching the climax of his journey in Harry Potter – The Deathly Hallows.

The movie starts when the golden trio Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and Ronald Weasley (Rupert Grint) begin their journey by breaking into the Gringotts (wizard bank) and escaping on a dragon. This movie portrays the final chapters of the book as written by Ms Rowling depicting the final battle and some events preceding it. Here the final battle between Harry and Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) has been shown, which depicts the battle between the light and darkness where Harry with the members of Order of Poenix and Dumbledore’s army fight Voldemort and his rampaging, bloodthirsty legions and death eaters.

Director David Yates and screenwriter Steve Kloves with a perfect ataraxia convey and depict the story in the movie. The sets are elaborate and the performances are extraordinary. Being the last Potter movie it seems like every actor has given more than his best. Daniel Radcliffe and Ralph Fiennes are highly commendable in their roles. The most astonishing act was presented by Alan Rickman who plays the role of Severus Snape who has always been portrayed as an emotionless and ruthless wizard in the other Potter movies. The presentation of emotion in this one was heartwarming.

One of the best scenes in the movie was Snape’s memories as well the breaking into Gringotts along with the epilogue. For me personally, the ;memories of Snape’ scene was the same as I imagined it while reading the book.

The movie in all is a great, fantastic and a perfect send off to the Harry Potter series however as a Harry Potter fanatic I can easily say that I would have preferred the movie if certain scenes were more elaborate and detailed.

So to summarize, I can say that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 is  a must watch. It  is fast and completely action packed with high voltage of emotions and superlative display of special effects in magic, with fantastic performances by the cast. A must watch movie for all and to all the Potter lovers BUONA VISIONE (happy watching).
