The most controversial Indian reality television show, Bigg Boss is out with its first promotional video. The video features Salman Khan, who has hosted the show for three seasons so far, in a captain’s uniform all set to take off the Bigg Boss flight. This will be Salman’s fourth appearance as the host for Bigg Boss. The show is to be out with its eighth season very soon. Colors TV channel has been signing Bigg Boss for the past seven years and this year too, the show will be aired by the same channel.

Have a look at “captain” Salman Khan in the promotional video of Bigg Boss season eight:

Bigg Boss has gained wide popularity with its “entertaining” controversies that take place inside the Bigg Boss house. The show features the litigious side of the participating celebrities, whose only the poised side has been seen in fictional characters otherwise. Not to mention, the hullabaloo that erupts every now and then between the “tasks” allotted to the participants only adds to all the entertainment.

The show was first aired in 2006 with Arshad Warsi as the host and within no time, the reality TV show has acquired a huge fan base which diligently follows every episode of the show. According to a report by the Times of India, Bigg Boss is one of the shows with “bumber budgets” in the small screen. Fans eagerly wait for the show that been inspired by the Dutch show Big Brother, every year.

While earlier, the rumours of Ajay Devgan as a replacement to Salman’s role as the host was doing the circles, the launch of this video has now cleared all speculations and confirmed Salman bhai (brother) as the host once again. As for the contestants are concerned, like each year the producers have chosen not to divulge the names until the show goes on-air; after all, one of the most exciting part every season is the contestants’ revelation announced by the host. However, there are some celebrity names as participants doing the rounds. Like the previous season, this year too Bigg Boss might have a representation from the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) group with Mr. Gay International being one of the participants. Sunny Leone’s husband, Daniel Weber and model Shanti Dynamite are the other speculations.

It has also been reported that actors Shiney Ahuja, Jackie Shroff, Evelyn Sharma and Shama Sikander, and Bangladeshi feminist author, Taslima Nasreen have turned down the offer to join the Bigg Boss house. To our disappointment, apparently even the popular singer Honey Singh had turned down the Bigg Boss offer in 2006. While some have refused it for the low remuneration, others have turned it down because of the controversial reputation the show carries.

Though the show is known as one of the most-watched reality shows in India, it has been argued my many that the show has already been scripted before its in-house filming. Scripted or reality, Bigg Boss continues to be highly popular with one of the highest TRPs and budgets in the small Indian screen.
