Yes, you heard it right. Pandit Ravi Shankar passed away in a hospital in San Diego. Well, technically it’s still December 11 there, so he officially passed away on Tuesday evening. He was admitted to the hospital a week back, when he complained of breathing difficulties.

I know what you’re thinking; any movie with Rebel Wilson has to be hilarious right? Well, you’re not too off the mark. Pitch Perfect, marketed as a comedic musical, is actually based on a non-fiction novel of the same name written by Mickey Rapkin, senior editor for GQ. It’s okay to be sceptical about a movie based on rival acapella groups; it’s completely understandable, especially in the face of ultra-preppy, we-love-the-world, Glee.

After an amazing run, 2008-2012, the Twilight saga offers up its final installment: Breaking Dawn Part II.The movie has been creating a lot of buzz since the beginning –with the new actors who join in as the vampire count increases in this one, to the “vampiric” sex scenes, the interesting little Renesmee and Jacob getting it from Mama Cullen. This movie offers what Twihards around the world have been waiting for since the very first installment. Also, due to the personal buzz around the actors who play the leads (KStew’s scandal… Her reunion with RPatz, etc.) have generated a lot of attention for the final movie.

Before launching into the experience I had while watching this movie, or discussing what works and what doesn’t, let me make it clear that I did not want to go see this movie. Yes, you shadySouth Delhi wannabes, gasp away. The trailers, and summaries did not make the Ang Lee directed film out to be more than a two hour video of a boy on a boat with a tiger. So exciting!

The Twilight series has taken over the world ever since the first movie released way back in 2008. Starring Kristen Stewart and then-unknown Robert Pattinson, the movie gave rise to millions of teenage fans and a few middle-aged women (one of them went on to write a bestselling erotic novel based on Edward and Bella). And as the number of fans rose, so did the hatred.

The movie was almost flawless. The opening credits stretched on for a while. The background imagery interspersed black and white shots of various places in Forks with microscopic views of blood cells, coming together occasionally in red-splattered pictures of the gorgeous town.

Can you believe it? It’s ending. Or rather, it has ended for the rest of the world, but India still awaits the end of the Twilight Saga. As Breaking Dawn Part II releases today – Friday, the 23rd of November 2012 – the excitement is sky high.

Set in an unnamed Oregon town in 1963, the action of the film takes place in the town’s mental institution. The opening scene shows the admitting of 38-year-old Randle Mc Murphy (Jack Nicholson), a criminal serving time for statutory rape of a minor due to insanity, which, the viewer quickly realizes, is faked by him in order to avoid a longer jail sentence. The doctor in charge is not convinced and he commits him to one of the wards for observation till the insanity is proved or disproved. His fellow patients in the ward include Billy Bibbit (Brad Dourif), a 30-year-old stammering, suicidal, nervous wreck who has a deathly fear of his mother, Charlie Cheswick (Sydney Lassik), a timid man
