IN THE NAME OF CONSERVATION

Conservation is a word used very often these days. Terms like ecotourism, eco-friendly, green games and environmentally sustainable are some of the expressions that camouflage conservation repeatedly. But how do we actually describe ‘Conservation’.

With only a few days left for the commonwealth games euphoria to begin, the capital is still under last minute clean up. A clean up which is not only restrained to debris of the city but also to the makers of this so-called “global”& “world-class” city.

As the Independence Day is approaching, I am continuously haunted by a question i.e. are we truly free and independent? We have gained freedom from the British rule but what have we done with our independence?
