After cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, if anyone is religiously followed in the Indian cricket scene, then it is M.S. Dhoni. His fans call him by the nickname of Mahi or simply as Dhoni.

Belonging from Ranchi in Jharkhand, he has taken the Indian cricket to far greater heights. Dhoni became a household name as he took up the captaincy of the Indian Cricket Team from Rahul Dravid in the year 2007 from where he never turned back. Winning the T20 Cricket World Cup 2007 was ascertained his position as one of the most successful cricket captains the country has seen. The winning streak followed as India grabbed the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy in 2011. He has made India proud with his exceptional skills and capabilities. He has been time and again answering his critics with his cool and calm demeanor, as he walks the talk with his nail-biting strategies on the field. Being considered as a Legend, Dhoni has an upcoming Bollywood biographical film being made on him by the title, “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story”. Interestingly, he is co-producing this film with director Neeraj Pandey.
Being a renowned sportsperson all over the world, Dhoni has reached the 23rd spot on the Forbes list of the world’s 100 highest paid athletes in the year 2015. Last year, he was ranked 22nd on the same list. He is the only Indian sportsperson in this list, having total earnings of $31 million. This includes a salary of $4 million and endorsements worth $ 27 million.
Although, he retired from Test-Cricket in December 2014, he remains the captain of Indian team in the ODI and T-20 formats. The middle order in the Indian team is strengthened by his presence as he’s often regarded as the best finisher of the game. Now, if it comes to playing of the infamous Helicopter Shot or his fast batting between the wickets, he shall always be an inspiration for the cricket enthusiasts.
