Hariharan Writes a Letter to the Prime Minister

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

Unfortunately, I have to write this simplest problem to you because none of the department heads seem to be having the time to look into simple issues.  They are too busy looking at the bigger issues, or rather thinking of bigger solutions.

I would like to bring to your notice a problem that is very small, but very critical.

All of us who drive, have a driving license, at least that is what is expected and assumed.
But I think it’s only in our country where we need to have a driving test at night also.

99 percent of the drivers use full beam when driving at night and this also includes the so called educated lot.

Can we please, compulsorily paint the top half of the headlights black and advice the car manufacturing companies to have top half black painted headlights fitted at the first go?

This is not a very difficult change. The car manufacturers are most welcome to come out with an aesthetically suitable design, as long as the beam does not blind the driver on the opposite side.

I hope to be able to drive at night without going blind, and not having to curse or hear abuses.

Thank you in advance for the prompt action you would take for this situation.

Regards,

Hariharan
