Inception – Not everyone’s cup of Tea

Inception is a 2010 science fiction action film. It is about an espionage expert. He has a very different way of stealing corporate secrets. The movie is developed by Christopher Nolan and of course the movie is about big ideas, realities, action, fun, thrill and somewhat emotions.

The principal photography of the film begun in Tokyo on June 19, 2009 and finally the film was released on July 14, 2010. It is directed, written and co-produced by Nolan. Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are the stars of this movie.

Leonardo DiCaprio is seen as Dom Cobb. Cobb is a very different type of thief; no one has ever imagined and seen. He steals the secrets (business secrets) and ideas from the target’s mind by entering into their subconscious mind through dreams as they asleep. Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is his partner in stealing such secrets. Saito (Ken Watanabe) promises to set free Cobb from the charge of murdering his wife and offers a chance to reunite him with his children on one condition. The condition was of planting an idea instead stealing it from the mind of a wealthy rival Robert Fischer Jr. (Cillian Murphy).

Robert inherits the corporate empire from his father (Pete Posthelthwaite) and so he is their next target. Planting of ideas into the subconscious mind through construction of dreams is called as inception. So he demands inception and not extraction. No dream thieves believe that such plantation of idea in the subconscious mind is possible but Cobb disagrees because he has done it before and also because of the emotional blackmail done by Saito. The plantation is very risky and dangerous, but possible. Cobb assembles his team which includes Arthur (Joseph-Gordon Levitt), an architect-Ariadne (Ellen Page) to build the dream world, Eames (Tom Hardy), an identity forger and Yusef (Dileep Rao), a chemist to keep sleepers sedated.

According to their plan these five travel into a dream-within-a-dream-within-a dream where, three levels deep, they attempt the inception. But despite their careful planning, a dangerous enemy seems to predict their every move and also Cobb struggles from the guilt of his wife’s suicide. Here we can get a practical idea, how to guard our mind from unwanted viruses. At the end Cobb spins his top “totem” to test reality but is distracted by his children before he sees the result; hence it is kept on audience how they want to interpret- whether Cobb is in a dream or not. The plot is not so complex or difficult to follow but it is very difficult to explain in detail. The movie is highly entertaining, complex and is a cerebral thriller. It also shows us the function of our brain; if a single idea gets planted in the human brain then it has a power to destroy or uplift oneself. The central theme of the story is both personal and universal.  The film involves intellect. It is a good work of art, storytelling marvel and technical achievement. It stimulates the thinking power of audience and makes them think on the massive scope of what our brains can think.

The Inception is unfolding the devises which can get invented in the near-future; which will allow invading the dreams of others.  So if you want to push boundaries of your mind beyond reality then this movie is for you.
