India’s worst batting collapses in 2011

  • The ICC World Cup encounter with South Africa at Nagpur was the worst instance of a batting disaster for India! India although went on to win the World Cup, and luckily for the team, the loss did not affect the fate as much, the collapse was none the less a wake up call for the Indian batsmen! From being 80 for no loss to 157 for 7, the middle order crumbled like a pack of cards! The villains for the Indians were Yuvraj Singh, Kohli, Dhoni and Yusuf Pathan! Dale Steyn on the other had was responsible for this fate!


  • The India-England Test match series in 2011 too was full of erratic batting graphs of the Indians! The 4th Test match at the Oval was the epitomy of inconsistency in the Indian cricket history! Suresh Rains, Dhoni and the Indian lower order fell meagerly costing the match for the Country! Graeme Swann was responsible from the opposition camp!

  • The 2nd Test match at Trent Bridge, of the same series also was a bad memory for the Indian Cricket lovers! The middle and the lower order failed again and India lost the match against England by 319 runs! Stuart Broad was the perpetrator this time!

  • The 2nd ODI of the bilateral series against South Africa in South Africa was a batting disaster for India again! Raina, Rohit Sharma and the lower order failed to pull it off in the end! Although the match ended in India’s favour, the disaster could have been avoided!

  • The 5th ODI against West Indies in Jamica was another instance of a bad display of batting by the Indian middle ands lower order! Andre Russel was the damage creator. As a result of which India lost the match by 5 wickets!

  • The most thrilling World Cup qualifying encounter, which ended in a tie, was a bad batting day for the Indians! Kohli, Yusuf and the lower order were the culprits for the Indians!
