Love, Logic and God’s Algorithm – A Book Review

About the Author: Saptarshi Basu, a Gold Medalist in Mechanical Engineering, has been in IT industry for last 7 years and has worked for top 3 IT companies of India. However, writing has always been first love, his passion. Love, Logic and the God’s Algorithm had been his debut novel. His second Novel, AUTUMN IN MY HEART published by Vitasta Publishing along with Times of India will be launched in November.

Book Review: How long can you wait to hear your inner voice? How long can you ignore your inner self? Saptrishi Basu asks this simple question as he ventures into an all-new world of inspiring fiction writing where he takes on the Life of Saptak, his protagonist, through personal and professional ups and downs.

The tale is candid, inspiring and lets the reader slip into Saptak’s life very comfortably. The shades of IT industry (the author being an IT person for the last 7 years) and college life have been portrayed well and though the author goes a little overboard when it comes to describing the Saptak’s dilemma.

The candid terminology used like 3G (Guitar, Grass and Girls), Pick ‘n’ Stick Technologies is worth the credit. It gives the young readers a link to linger on the story even after they’ve finished reading. The idea of the protagonist getting confused between love and logic too connects instantly!

The story gets high on emotions in its latter half and renders the reader an inspiration to listen to his inner self.  Overall, the book scores well on connectivity and story but isn’t as impactful towards the end. Our protagonist comes across at the outset as an individual, confused between the war of his mind and heart and that’s what works for Saptrishi Basu. A recommended story for today’s youth, Viewspaper gives it 3/5.
