Can you believe it? It’s ending. Or rather, it has ended for the rest of the world, but India still awaits the end of the Twilight Saga. As Breaking Dawn Part II releases today – Friday, the 23rd of November 2012 – the excitement is sky high.
It’s a sad event, but alas, all good things come to an end. People can snicker at the idea of werewolves and sparkling vampires, but really, nobody gives a damn. Most people only crib about how “stupid” it is because of peer pressure, anyway.
We don’t care if the plotline is stupid or if the books slaughtered the idea of vampires and werewolves as supernatural creatures. Some of us don’t agree with the whole idea of the book while others love each and every bit of it, but the fact remains that the Twilight Saga has a certain undeniable charm about it.
I guess it can be attributed to the fact that Stephenie Meyers narrated her story in such a descriptive manner that you can see the events unfold in front of your eyes. The feelings are intense and her writing style has way of drawing you in.
As for the movies, even though a few actors and actresses (like Kristen Stewart) weren’t exactly great, they fit into the role. This is true especially for the characters of Bella, Edward, Jacob, Alice and Jasper. You really couldn’t imagine them looking any different.
While it’s true that the movie gains appeal due to the good looks of its cast, all of it cannot be attributed to that. The storyline and its execution obviously intrigues the people. Movies are rarely ever as good as the books simply because they can’t fit in the entire story, so it would be unfair to judge the series if you’ve only seen the movies. The major drawback of the movies is that the enactment lacks in expression and emotion for Bella, who is the main character in the whole series. Still, the way the movies have been made just makes you feel happy and slightly hungry, wanting more.
Another great thing about the movies is the picturesque beauty of Forks. All the scenes in the movie are set in gorgeous scenery. Also, the soundtrack is pretty damn awesome. I have a brother who watches the movies solely for the soundtrack, and how perfectly they place all the right songs with the right scenes.
Twilight featured songs like “Supermassive Black Hole” by Muse, “Decode” by Paramore and “Leave Out All The Rest” by Linkin Park among others. The other movies had some great music too, and it just makes them all that more appealing.
Sigh. I’m going to miss this when it ends.
We’ve seen the whole journey from Bella meeting Edward to them getting married and having Reneésme. We know all about James and Victoria and the Volturi, but the real twist is yet to come. It’s the best part, and it’s releasing today. Yay!
I’m not going to ruin it for y’all who haven’t read the books, so I’ll shut up and say nothing. All I’m going to tell you is that apparently, there’s a really great twist in the end which is very different from what happens in the book. Robert said so in an interview. And according to fans across the world, it’s the best movie in the series. Oh, the eagerness is crazy! I personally hope they’ve added a really cool fight scene or something in the end.
But alas, I’m going to have to wait just a little to find out.
Book your tickets, guys. It’s the last time you’ll ever watch a new Twilight movie.
It’s ending. And we finally get to catch up with the rest of the world and see what happens.
I’m sure you’ll love it, Twihards.
