Rahul Gandhi’s Power Nap At The Parliament Session

The Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 General Elections, Rahul Gandhi was found napping during a debate on price rise in parliament. He is certainly not the first one to be caught on camera sleeping at the Parliament, but the fact that he was the Prime Ministerial Candidate from Congress is what makes the story ridiculous.

The image went viral across social media sites. In an attempt to save Mr. Gandhi from humiliation, congress leaders called the incident “factually incorrect”. Congress leader Rajeev Shukla said that “In my years in Parliament, I have seen many Members of Parliament take what they call catnaps. Sometimes people shut their eyes and listen to debate very carefully.” Mr Shukla even compared Rahul with the former Prime Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Mr. Atal Bihari Bajpayee who used to close his eyes while carefully listening to debates.

The congress saw the lowest of lows in the Lok Sabha elections, winning just forty four seats and now the prime ministerial candidate sleeping at the parliament makes it evident that it is quite a challenge for Rahul to attend the parliamentary sessions after being swept off by BJP at the elections.

“Rahul Gandhi was seen sleeping in Parliament during a debate on price rise. That’s what the Congress was doing during their ten year rule,” BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said, tweeting the image.

Is FIFA keeping Rahul up these nights that he makes up for with naps in the Parliamentary session? Seems like not bestowing him with our trust to head the government was a right move!
