I lie in bed all night,

Looking at the shadows dancing on the ceiling;

If I feel left all alone,

Like I’m stuck on an island, that’s how I’m feeling;

Cut off from the world,

Like that little boat alone at sea;

In those shadows, I try to find,

Anything that would bring them back to me;

With those carefree smiles and peals of laughter,

And bring back our lives’ sanity;

Knowing they are here, inside me somewhere,

I know it’s just a passing phase;

And knowing this keeps it real for me,

And gives life a meaning;

I know everything will be fine someday,

That there has to be a silver lining;

I see myself comforted in this knowledge,

And like always, and it’s the same old feeling.
