Bal Gangadhar Tilak along with Annie Besant launches the Home Rule Movement in 1916
Mahatma Gandhi launched the Chamaparan Campaign in Bihar in 1917 to voice the grievances of the indigo planters there
The Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919 in Amritsar that left hundreds of Indian dead after an unarmed civilian gathered to protest against the arrest of two leaders
Gandhi started the non-cooperation movement in 1920 which lasted till 1922
Simon commission arrives in Bombay in 1928
Gandhi launches the Civil Disobedience Movement across the entire nation in 1930
Indian National Congress adopts the Quit India Resolution in Bombay, 1942
Subhash Chandra Bose establishes the Azad Hind Fauj or the Indian National Army, 1942
August 15, 1947 India gains freedom
