On December 25, 2015, Sadhana died at the age of 74. Reports suggest that she had been unwell for a long time.
She was the diva who gave the world the famous ‘Sadhana’ (fringe) cut, the Indian version of Audrey Hepburn’s famous hairstyle. She wasn’t just a fashion icon and a graceful public figure. Anyone who talks about her never forgets to mention her blazing desire of becoming an actor, since childhood. She started her acting acting career at the tender age of 15. She saw major success from her role in Love In Simla, and then there was no turning back for her. Every movie she touched, turned to gold.
She had the looks to die for and was equally versatile. She set a benchmark for actresses who were to enter the industry after her. Sadhna reigned the industry through the 60’s and 70’s with her charms, her acting prowess and entertainment.
Sadhana won the IIFA Lifetime Achievement in 2002. She had worked with actors like Pran, Dev Anand, Kishore Kumar among many others.
