Target of this show:
Although a lot of TV shows are being telecasted these days, there is not a single one that shows problems being faced by the people and the evil practices that are still being practiced in some parts of our country. There are hardly one or two programs on the news channels that help public but the media isn’t putting in its 100 per cent. At this time came a show called Satyamev Jayate anchored by the actor Aamir Khan. This show is presenting lots of social issues and receiving applause and is creating sensation.
As soon as announcement of this TV show was made, many people started posting updates and sharing posts about this show on Facebook. No sooner, the show got popularized all over the country and people eagerly waited for the first episode. For better understanding, this show was dubbed into regional languages too. The theme song is inspiring and heart-touching.
The first episode of SATYAMEV JAYATE was telecasted on May 6. Unfortunately I missed that episode but followed later on Youtube.
Latest episode bravely challenged the medico criminals in the society. The way the problem presented was excellent and Aamir Khan introduced two journalists who did a sting operation and dragged all the quacks who illegally became doctors and on whom cases were filed by other doctors. The entire episode was good to watch. We cannot say it is a simple problem rather it is an evil practice that is prevalent in our country. Lastly, Aamir Khan asked for public support and askedthem to send SMS to their site for cost of 1rupee per SMS and also requested for donation through which Reliance foundation will help the needy.
This show met public expectations by bravely presenting the problem of child sexual abuse in another episode. The attempt to show this problem in was excellent as this problem is very sensitive and if it was not presented in sensible manner, the attempt would have failed entirely.
Every week a new problem is presented. Third episode is good which is about dowry. In this, Aamir Khan supported his argument with statistics and videos about this practice and effect of this practice in society.
Better way:
The problems present in the society are like ocean. The problem resides in the roots of the society. It is not easy to change the entire society in a span of weeks or months. Even years are not sufficient to change this society. This show will telecast once in a week and discuss single problem. But how many people will change by watching this show in one day and that too in anhour. There should be continuous campaign and awareness programs in the entire country about each and every problem. This can be done with the help of the media.
It is the responsibility of every citizen to be a part of the solution and not just one man. It is our country and it is our duty to eliminate evil practices in our society.
