Tata Nano Project Moves to Gujrat

In a major development for the Indian Industry the Tata Nano project has moved to Sanand in Gujrat. Sanand is a place around 30 kilometers from Ahmedabad. The earlier site was Singur in Bengal but the Tata’s had to move out due to agitation by farmers.
The site is located within 2,200 acres of the Anand Agriculture University Campus. The Tata project has been given 1,000 acres of land for the project. The plant which will be initially built with a capacity of 2,50,000 units can be expanded to 5,00,000 units in the future.
The project is expected to generate nearly 10,000 direct and indirect jobs for the people of Gujrat.
Although the first Nano will not be rolled out of this plant but it is by no doubt another major achievement for the Narendra Modi lead Gujrat government.
