Your Fears Will Rise Like Smoke With Radhika Apte’s ‘Phobia’

A story of a girl, who seems unfazed by the life in her surroundings, a girl who would do anything but step out of her home, a girl who is ready to make our nightmares come true.

Helmed under the direction of Pawan Kripalani, the movie assures to curdle our blood and make us goose-bumpy with the story.

The trailer opens up with Radhika Apte peeping through the eye hole of the door, and her struggle to step out of her home. She essays the role of a girl who suffers from severe agoraphobia, that is, a person who has irrational fear of open or public places.

She confines herself into her home because of her fears of the outside world, but what happens when her recluse starts to wear off?

What happens when she’s equally terrified to stay at home as to step out?

A series of shots further into the trailer reveals the gruesome plot that might be responsible for her phobia. She was sexually assaulted by men, which makes her feel that every environment is unsafe, and something terrifying might happen if she decides to step out.

The trailer has ignited an amazing level of curiosity among the audience. Radhika Apte will leave you spellbound in the trailer, as she promises to deliver a power-packed performance by playing the role of Mehak, who panics and gets anxious by mere idea of the outside world.

The trailer will make you want to scream, and find yourself to safety. The movie might raise the bar of psycho-thrillers in Bollywood, that has previously been set by movies like Karthik Calling Karthik, Darr, Kaun and Gupt.

The movie is produced by Eros International and Next Gen Films and will be releasing on May 27.

Radhika Apte, who has constantly blown our minds with her spectacular performances, paints a convincing and a beautiful picture.

Phobia perfectly captures the fears and phobia one might face in an urban life.
